Not sure what this is... Polypore
It is a polypore / bracket but not sure what, thought it might be Chicken of the Woods, the dark brown is putting me off though.
Definately not a pheasant back. Pheasant backs are grey in colour with brown giraffe like striations, I think the first comment is correct a red belted polypore its kind of the opposite in colours to a Rishi mushroom.
Well, I guess I never wrote "Smells .... like...". I must have written 'looks..... like....' instead. I harvest Driad's Saddle every year. I guess that you are more used to reading MD's cryptic writing, yes?
